NASET State by State Professional Development Provider Information

For over two decades, school districts across the country have recognized NASET’s rigorous board certifications for professional development credit, salary advancement, and career progression. Our educators have successfully used NASET training to earn raises, advance on salary schedules, and achieve leadership positions in special education.

NASET has earned state-level CE approval in 7 states, confirmed district-level acceptance in 14 states, and is recognized by thousands of districts nationwide. Find your state below to see exactly how NASET certifications count toward your license renewal.

Many NASET members have successfully used certifications for salary lane advancement. This depends on your district's policies for what counts toward graduate-level equivalent credits. How many professional development hours does a NASET certification count for?+
NASET certifications range from approximately 45 to 86+ study hour credits depending on the program. The Board Certification in IEP Development (BCIEP) is 86 study hour credits. Each certification page on learn.naset.com lists the specific credit hours for the program.
What if my state requires university credit, not PD hours?+
North Dakota is the only state that mandates university coursework for all license renewal. For other states where university credit is preferred, NASET has university partnerships that allow you to convert NASET professional development hours into official university semester credit.
